The Vestry House Museum photographic collection comprises approximately 80,000 photographic prints, negatives, lantern slides and postcards dating from the 1860s onwards. These includes images of street scenes, buildings, landmarks, businesses and events. The collection covers all parts of Waltham Forest. These locations are particularly well documented: Epping Forest, Leyton High Road and Hoe Street, Walthamstow.
The photographic collection is now held with Waltham Forest Archives at Chingford Assembly Hall, The Green, Station Road, London E4 7EN. Access is by prior appointment only. Please contact us for further information and to book your visit.
