Ensign was the largest camera producer in Great Britain in the 1920s and 1930s. It was based in Walthamstow with a large factory on Fulbourne Road. The company produced affordable, good quality cameras and helped to popularise photography amongst ordinary people.
Vestry House Museum houses a large collection of Ensign material including cameras, accessories, instruction manuals, publications and film. A selection of the material can be seen below. An exhibition currently on display at the museum explains more about the companies, its products and its workers.
